About Us

Compassionate Links is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to strengthening communities by connecting people to resources, opportunity, and compassionate support. Founded in the Greenspoint area of Houston, our organization was created in response to the visible gaps faced by underserved neighborhoods—limited access to technology, education, health resources, and reliable support systems.

While youth and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are at the heart of our mission, Compassionate Links is not limited to serving one population. We exist to be a community resource for families, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and anyone navigating barriers to stability and independence. Our programs focus on education and tutoring, digital literacy and computer access, life skills development, mental health and wellness resources, and community outreach initiatives that promote dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.

Compassionate Links was founded by leadership with decades of hands-on experience serving individuals with complex needs through Links of Compassion, a Texas-based Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) provider. This foundation allows us to approach community work with both compassion and accountability—combining professional expertise with a deep understanding of the real challenges faced by individuals and families in our community.

We envision Compassionate Links as a trusted hub and beacon in Greenspoint—a place where people know they can find guidance, resources, and support without judgment. As our programs grow, we are committed to expanding our reach beyond Houston, stretching our roots across Texas to serve communities where the need is great and access to resources is limited.

At Compassionate Links, we believe that when people are properly supported, connected, and empowered, entire communities can thrive.

Our
Story

Compassionate Links is a Houston-based nonprofit organization founded in May 2022 to support families, caregivers, and youth connected to Links of Compassion, Inc., a Texas provider of Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) and foster care–related supports.

Compassionate Links was formally recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on February 2, 2024, solidifying its mission to expand community-based outreach and charitable services beyond regulated care.

The organization was born directly from the work of Links of Compassion, Inc., as staff and leadership identified recurring unmet needs among families caring for CPS-involved and foster youth, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and their caregivers, including access to resources, technology, education, caregiver support, food assistance, mental health support, and safe community spaces. Compassionate Links was created to address these gaps—providing support that could not be billed, regulated, or delivered through a for-profit service model.

While Compassionate Links initially focused on supporting families connected to Links of Compassion, Inc., the organization has since expanded its reach to serve the broader community. Today, Compassionate Links operates as an open-access community resource, supporting individuals and families regardless of service affiliation, insurance status, or enrollment in formal programs.

Rooted in the Greenspoint (77060) area of Houston, Compassionate Links serves youth, families, individuals with IDD, caregivers, and underserved community members. Many of the communities served experience food insecurity, limited digital access, and barriers to mental health and wellness services, which can restrict stability, educational success, and family well-being. Compassionate Links helps address these disparities by connecting families to food resources, providing access to its community computer center with internet and printing services, and facilitating mental health education, support, and referrals to trusted providers.

Programs and initiatives focus on community connection and empowerment, including resource fairs, food access support, digital access through computer and printer use, educational assistance, caregiver and family support, mental health resource navigation, and referral coordination. Compassionate Links provides welcoming, stigma-free spaces where individuals can access help, build skills, and connect with trusted partners.

Compassionate Links and Links of Compassion, Inc. operate as sister organizations with distinct legal structures and missions. The nonprofit focuses on outreach, advocacy, and charitable services, while the for-profit entity delivers regulated HCS and foster care services. Together, they form a continuum of care that strengthens families, supports caregivers, and expands community impact.

Guided by values of service, accountability, collaboration, and compassion, Compassionate Links is committed to long-term investment in the communities it serves. Its vision is to grow as a trusted community anchor—planting roots where needs are greatest and helping individuals and families move toward stability, opportunity, and hope.

From deep roots, compassion grows—branching outward to reach every life it can.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Compassionate Links exists to strengthen communities by bridging people to resources, opportunity, and compassionate support. Rooted in the Greenspoint area of Houston, we serve as a trusted community hub dedicated to empowering youth, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), families, and underserved populations through access to education, digital literacy, health and wellness resources, life skills development, and social support services.

While youth and individuals with IDD remain at the heart of our foundation, our mission extends beyond any single population. We respond to the broader needs of the community by addressing barriers such as limited access to technology, healthcare navigation, food insecurity, mental health resources, and stable support systems. Through partnerships, outreach, and inclusive programming, we aim to restore dignity, build resilience, and create pathways to independence and long-term stability.

As a beacon of hope and connection in Greenspoint, Compassionate Links is committed to growing our impact across Houston and throughout Texas—planting roots where needs are greatest and ensuring that compassion, equity, and opportunity remain accessible to all.
